ReverseRemixThis! Sing with Map
Map has been featured on a few of his site’s monthly mixtapes (September 2009, January 2010, and Christmix Disc 2). If you haven’t taken advantage of these free tracks, then you’ve been missing out, but fear not… now is your chance to not only enjoy Map but to be part of the experience.
We’ve had 3 RemixThis! contests, but this is our first ReverseRemixThis! contest. Rather than giving you some vocals and asking that you give a go at remixing a track, instead it’s time to hear your vocal chops!
Map’s latest album, Speechless, has only 2 tracks with vocals, the rest of it being an album of great instrumentals.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to Download “Issues and Subscriptions”, write some lyrics, and record your vocal tracks. One, two, three vocalists… your choice, doesn’t matter to us. What matters is that you make take this great track and make it even better!
Submissions are due on on February 3, 2010 and will be unveiled on next month’s mixtape on the 10th. Email justincharlesharlan@gmail.com.
Now, the important part, THE PRIZE. The winner gets a TPM primp package, including a spotlight article on the site and some free TPM junk… but ALSO wins a much cooler prize, as well… the ENTIRE discography of Map, courtesy of Velvet Blue Music. And, knowing Jeff, the owner of VBM, impressing him could mean a chance to put out an EP (though that’s not part of the prize).
